Description

The giant of the Pyrenees, forever etched.

The Col du Tourmalet. At an altitude of 2,115 metres, it is the highest road pass in the French Pyrenees and one of the most feared and legendary summits in world cycling. Whether starting from the first slopes of Luz-Saint-Sauveur or from the Sainte-Marie-de-Campan side, every turn of the pedals on these slopes, with an average gradient of over 7 %, is part of a long history of suffering and glory. This trophy serves as a reminder that you are now part of that history.

From the course to the trophy

From the effort you put into the journey to the object you'll place on your desk or give to a loved one, the creation process follows three simple and precise steps.

  • The ascent route is extracted from GPX data and maps that are faithful to the real terrain of the Tourmalet.
  • The topographical map is 3D printed: every contour line, every valley, every rocky spur is rendered in relief. The ascent route is raised to stand out clearly from the massif.
  • The oak base is laser engraved with the name of the pass, the distance, the elevation gain and the average gradient. The whole item is assembled, checked and shipped from our workshop in Bourg-d’Oisans, at the foot of Alpe d’Huez.

The 3D raised collar

The Col du Tourmalet rises to 2,115 metres in the Hautes-Pyrénées mountain range, between the Campan and Luz-Saint-Sauveur valleys. On the eastern side, from Sainte-Marie-de-Campan, the climb stretches for around 17 kilometres with an elevation gain of 1,270 metres, at an average gradient of 7.4 %. On the western side, from Luz-Saint-Sauveur, the climb covers approximately 19 kilometres, with an elevation gain of 1,404 metres and an average gradient of 7.4 %. Classified as hors catégorie in the Tour de France, the Tourmalet is the ultimate benchmark for all cyclists and hikers in the Pyrenees.

The trophy for your climb

Riding the Tourmalet means joining a list that includes the greatest names in cycling. It's also a personal victory, a moment you won't forget. This 3D map doesn't just represent a mountain pass on a map: it represents your legs on those slopes, your breath in the Pyrenean air, and the view from the summit. It's the trophy of your climb, to display in your home or give to someone who deserves to be reminded of what they've achieved.

Several slopes to choose from

The Tourmalet is climbed via two iconic sides, both of which are available in this trophy.

  • From Luz-Saint-Sauveur, via the Laurent Fignon route: the longer western slope, which takes the road made famous by historical Tour de France editions.
  • From Sainte-Marie-de-Campan: the east slope, starting from the Hautes-Pyrénées village, with its long straight sections and its final hairpins below the summit.

Choose the slope that you climbed, or offer both to him who linked them.
