At 2,360 metres, the Col d’Izoard is one of the most iconic crossings in the Southern Alps. Linking the Briançonnais to the Queyras, it rises through an exceptional rocky landscape, with the Casse Déserte as its final backdrop — the ochre and grey scree that has seen the greatest names of the Tour de France ride by. Climbing the Izoard means becoming part of a story bigger than yourself. This trophy is here so that moment never fades.

From route to trophy

Every map is produced in three steps, from your route to the finished object.

• The GPX track of the climb is converted into precise topographic data, true to the real relief of the pass.
• The map is 3D-printed with the route of the climb physically raised above the terrain — you can read the relief with your fingertips.
• The oak base is laser-engraved with the name of the pass, the distance, the elevation gain and the average gradient. The trophy is assembled, packed in its gift box and shipped from Bourg-d’Oisans.

The Col d’Izoard rises to 2,360 metres in the Hautes-Alpes, between the Briançonnais and the Queyras. It is one of the hors catégorie passes of professional cycling and also a major goal for hikers and trail runners on the GR 5 or the Tour du Queyras. The climb from Briançon covers around 19 kilometres with nearly 1,150 metres of climbing and an average gradient of around 6%. From Château-Ville-Vieille, in the Queyras valley, the climb is shorter and tougher, with about 13 kilometres for a similar elevation gain and a much steeper average gradient. The engraved base shows the exact data of your side.

The Izoard is more than a number or a race stage. For those who have climbed it, it means training, effort and a moment suspended in the Casse Déserte. This trophy doesn’t commemorate a pass in general — it commemorates your climb, your side, your day. On a desk, a bookcase or a shelf, it conveys something photos often struggle to capture: the height of the terrain, the exact line of the effort, the physical reality of the gradient.

Several sides to choose from

The Izoard can be climbed from both sides, and each side has its own character. Choose the one you rode.

• From Briançon: the classic climb up the north side, from the highest town in France, long and steady, through the forests before reaching the Casse Déserte.
• From Château-Ville-Vieille: the climb from the heart of the Queyras, shorter and steeper, with the pale-stone villages of the regional nature park as a backdrop.
