Description
The pass of legends, carved in wood
At an altitude of 2,360 metres, the Col d’Izoard is one of the most iconic passes in the Southern Alps. Linking Briançonnais to Queyras, it rises through an exceptional mineral landscape, with the Casse Déserte as its final backdrop – those ochre and grey stones that have witnessed the greatest names in the Tour de France. To climb the Izoard is to become part of a story greater than oneself. This trophy is here so that this moment is not forgotten.
From the course to the trophy
Each card is produced in three stages, from your design to the finished object.
- The GPX track of the ascent is converted into precise topographic data, true to the actual terrain of the pass.
- The map is 3D-printed with the climbing route physically raised above the terrain – the topography can be read with your fingertips.
- The oak base is laser-engraved with the name of the pass, the distance, the elevation gain, and the average gradient. The trophy is assembled, packaged in its box, and shipped from Bourg-d’Oisans.
The Izoard Pass in 3D relief
The Col d’Izoard rises to an altitude of 2,360 metres in the Hautes-Alpes, between the Briançonnais and the Queyras. It is one of the hors catégorie passes in professional cycling and is also a major challenge for hikers and trail runners tackling the GR 5 or the Tour du Queyras. The climb from Briançon is approximately 19 kilometres long with a total ascent of nearly 1,150 metres, and an average gradient of around 6 %. From Château-Ville-Vieille, in the Queyras valley, the climb is shorter and more demanding, covering around 13 kilometres with a comparable elevation gain and a significantly steeper average gradient. The engraved base plate displays the exact data for your ascent.
The trophy for your climb
The Izoard is not just about a number or a stage of a race. For those who have climbed it, it represents preparation, effort, a suspended moment in the Casse Déserte. This trophy doesn't commemorate a pass in general – it commemorates your climb, your side, your day. Placed on a desk, a bookshelf, or a shelf, it tells a story that photos sometimes struggle to convey: the height of the terrain, the exact route of the effort, the physical reality of the slope.
Several slopes to choose from
The Izoard can be climbed from both sides, and each ascent has its own personality. Choose the one you took.
- From Briançon: the classic ascent via the north face, starting from the capital of the Hautes-Alpes, long and steady, which crosses forests before reaching the Casse Déserte.
- From Château-Ville-Vieille: the climb from the heart of the Queyras, shorter, steeper, with the blonde stone villages of the regional natural park as a backdrop.
Customisable, made in France
Each trophy is made to order in our workshop in Bourg-d’Oisans, in the Isère region, at the foot of the great Alpine climbs. Printed and engraved in France. Delivered in a gift box, ready to give.
