Description
The Col de Sarenne from the Lac du Chambon is the other face of the Oisans. Where the roads narrow, the hairpins tighten and views over the lake and the Grandes Rousses open up without warning. At 1,999 metres, this side is one of the most unspoilt routes in the massif. Those who have climbed it from the shores of the Chambon know what they achieved. This trophy is made for them.
From route to trophy
Every 3D map is made in three steps in our workshop in Bourg-d’Oisans, just a few kilometres from the pass itself.
- The real topographic data of the climb from the Lac du Chambon are turned into a precise digital model: every contour line, every bend, every flat section is faithfully reproduced.
- The relief is 3D-printed layer by layer. The route of the climb is raised on the map, visible at first glance, like a trail left on the ground.
- The solid oak base is laser-engraved with the exact data of the climb: the name of the pass, the distance, the elevation gain and the average gradient. It all comes in a gift box, ready to give.
The Col de Sarenne in relief
Perched at 1,999 metres in the Grandes Rousses massif, the Col de Sarenne is one of the most authentic routes in the Oisans. From the Lac du Chambon, the climb rises along the northern flanks of the massif, on a narrow road that cars avoid and that cyclists and hikers have all to themselves. The lake appears behind you as you gain height, offering one of the most striking views in the valley.
This side has a demanding profile, with steep sections in the first kilometres and a climb towards the pastures that rewards the effort with high-mountain scenery. Less used than the climb from Bourg-d’Oisans, it offers a quieter, rockier and often more personal ascent.
The map renders this terrain precisely: the start at the water’s edge, the climb towards the pastures and the pass in its high-mountain setting.
The trophy of your climb
Choosing to climb the Col de Sarenne from the Lac du Chambon means choosing the less-told version, the one you keep a little to yourself. It isn’t a performance shown off on a leaderboard or social media. It’s a real climb, in the heat or the cold, alone or in a group, on a road bike, on foot or running.
This trophy exists so that effort stays visible. On a shelf, a desk or a mantelpiece, it brings back the pass, the moment, the feeling at the top. It tells a story without needing a single word more than what is engraved in the oak.
It’s also the ideal gift for a cyclist, hiker or trail runner who put this pass on their list and ticked it off. A lasting object, carefully made just a few kilometres from the pass itself.
Customisable, made in France
