Col de la Loze — 3D relief map
Price range: 49,90 € through 119,90 €
The Col de la Loze immortalised in relief. A 3D printed topographic map with your ascent route raised, set on an engraved oak base with your data: distance, elevation gain, average gradient, and the name of the pass. Made in France, delivered in a gift box.
Description
At an altitude of 2,304 metres, the Col de la Loze is one of the most challenging mountain passes in the Northern Alps. Perched between Courchevel and Méribel, in the heart of the Vanoise massif, it made its mark on the international cycling scene in 2020 during the Tour de France, revealing gradients that regularly exceed 20 %. Whether you’ve tackled it from the villages down in the valley or linked it up from the resorts, this climb deserves to be celebrated with more than just a photo on your mobile.
From the course to the trophy
Every 3D Mountain trophy follows the same path, from digital design to a physical object you can place on your desk.
- The relief of the pass is extracted from precise topographic data, then modelled to faithfully reproduce every hairpin bend, every flat section, every wall.
- The map is 3D printed in our workshop in Bourg-d’Oisans, at the foot of the greatest Alpine climbs. The route of the climb is raised on the relief, clearly visible.
- The oak base is laser-engraved with the pass name, distance, elevation gain, and average gradient. A complete item, with nothing to add.
Le Col de la Loze 3D relief
Reaching an altitude of 2,304 m, the Col de la Loze links the Tarentaise with the heart of the Trois Vallées ski area. The road, built specifically for cyclists and pedestrians, offers no easy ride: sections with gradients of over 24 % punctuate an ascent that few mountain passes in Europe can match in terms of sheer difficulty. Classified as ‘hors catégorie’ when it first featured in the Tour de France, it immediately took its place in the legend of high-mountain cycling. Whether by hiking or trail running, the routes leading to its summit offer panoramic views of the Mont Blanc massif, the Grande Casse and the peaks of Belledonne.
On your trophy, the relief accurately reproduces the deceptive flat sections, the exposed descents, and the final climb before the summit. The raised design allows you to take in the entirety of the effort expended at a single glance.
The trophy for your climb
Finishing the Col de la Loze means joining a select circle. The gradients pile up, breathing becomes scarce, and the summit is earned. This trophy doesn't represent a pass in general: it represents your climb, your route, your day. Placed on a desk, hung in a living room, or given to a cyclist, a trail runner, or a hiker who has experienced this ascent, it tangibly recalls what the body has accomplished. The engraved oak base anchors the achievement in numbers: those of your pass, those that are not forgotten.
Several slopes to choose from
The Col de la Loze can be climbed from several starting points. Choose the side you climbed, or the one you wish to offer.
